About Me
I am a recent Bachelor of Arts graduate in Sociology and Religious Studies, with special emphasis on Eastern Religions, new religious traditions, and the internet. Right now I am working as a research assistant at my University, but I hope to start my Master’s degree in May or September of 2007 on the topic of Sociology of Religion: Religious Identity and Trust. Eventually, I would like to do my PhD in Religion on the Internet.
I am an atheist, although I have at different times been Christian and Wiccan. I am still involved in the Wiccan community, mostly because many of my friends belong, but also because I find that to be fascinating religion and group of people. I have great faith in science, and I believe that if something is currently unexplained, it is because we do not yet have either sufficient technology, or a relevant research paradigm. The noted skeptic James Randi is someone who I look up to immensely for his dedication to truth and rigorous study, as well as his high ethical standards.
I am a lesbian, well, kind of. Although technically I suppose I am bisexual, I have been with one woman for seven-and-a-half years (pretty impressive, seeing as we’re only 24 and 25 years old). We are legally married in Canada, where we live, and plan to have kids together one day.
I’m a bit of a geek, a geek-in-training, if you will. I like Star-Trek TNG, Homestar Runner, and am an active participant at Metafilter. I am learning how to edit Wikipedia and find it to be very rewarding.
I have two rabbits, Iggy Pop (m) and Gabriel (f).

I have just read your autobi, and your manner in previous comments matches in such a pleasant way for such a blog.
“The Amazing Randi” is one of my favorites as well, the one who exposes The Medicine Man” for all he is worth.
Surely, you have found in your religious studies, there were just too many of these Medicine Men for the soul.
